I did it!

September 30, 2012

The race was amazing. The basics are I managed the race very well. The heat was oppressive -28c-and I couldn’t even do my 1/1 run walk, but I had Donna Summer and Disco Inferno on my iPod and we did just fine. My pace was 15:20, 3:20 by my Garmin. I have stories about the exhilaration of being in the front of the race start, about my peanut butter melting in my camelback and how it must have looked to see me shoveling this stuff in my mouth, about how nice it was to wear my birthday sash and have people of all ages and nationalities wish me a happy birthday. It was the best entrance into my next decade of life.

More later. I am exhausted and now that I have iced my feet I can go to bed.
